NEW PENN MAKES DEFENSE LOGISTICS HAPPEN

New Penn Pulse

As Howard mentioned in his article,  New Penn is a service business, and  we do not exist without our customers. On February 12, 2018, we began  handling inbound shipments for the  Department of Defense (DoD), moving into the U.S. Tobyhanna Army Depot  located in Tobyhanna, PA, and the  Defense Logistics Agency site located  in New Cumberland, PA. What a great honor it is to be the carrier moving the first loads under the largest DoD multi-year transportation contract– $2.3 billion.

The load represents a bold move by Jacksonville, Florida-based Crowley Maritime Corp. to expand beyond its roots as an ocean shipping firm and establish itself as a major inland transportation services provider.

The DoD is projected to be one of our top 25 customers. Equally impressive is that this is all new business. The fact that the DoD chose New Penn to handle items vital to our national defense speaks highly to our reputation as being a fast, low damage carrier in the Northeast. How did we earn that reputation? Employees, like you, who Make It Happen for our customers.
