We’d like to introduce New Penn’s new Vice President of Sales and Marketing, Jason Dekker. Jason joined the YRCW family as a Corporate Account Executive. His transportation industry experience was gained from a global provider of transportation and logistics solutions where he advanced from Business Development Manager to the Director of National Sales.
Jason brings some fresh ideas to better meet the needs of our customers. He believes in the overall philosophy of the consultative selling approach known as “SPIN” selling.
“SPIN is an acronym for the four, customer-focused questions you ask when identifying how to best support the customers’ business,” he explained. “By exploring answers to these questions, we can learn about our customers and their transportation needs. With that information and a consultative approach, we can find new ways to apply our knowledge and ideas to create a vastly better supply chain for our customers.”
The SPIN questions include: Situation, Problem, Implication and Needs-Payoff.
While most customers’ needs can be met with existing New Penn services, Dekker says he’s eager to explore new and better solutions that build on the company’s quality next-day service. That includes expanded New Penn Volume and Truckload shipping services, support for the very dense port infrastructure in the Northeast, quality Cross-Border speed and service, as well as “best-in-class” door-to-door, port-to-door integrated service to/from Puerto Rico with local bilingual staff. New Penn is the largest consolidator of less-than-containerload shipments from the Port of Philadelphia to Puerto Rico.
When a customer has high volume shipments, New Penn can provide quality Volume or Truckload service and competitive quotes. Our cost-effective Volume services are available for shipments over 5,000 pounds or with five or more skids. It is possible for customers to take advantage of our open capacity on backhaul lanes and save with reduced freight charges and 99.9% damage-free handling. New Penn provides competitive quotes quickly via online form or by phone: 844.599.5855, option 3.
“We don’t expect our customers to come up to us and say they know how we can help them,” Dekker explains. “We want them to rely on us as their transportation expert and partner. To do that, we will more actively engage with our customers to uncover ways to more efficiently and effectively enhance their supply chain and better meet their transportation service needs.”
